The Hartley’s Hawgs earned the 1st and 3rd place spots in the Ohio Bass Nation State Championship High School Division held on Alum Creek Lake. Also a Hartley’s duo claimed 3rd place in the Junior Championship which was held concurrent with the High School tournament. Way to go Nathan/Braden, Mike/Rees & Brooks/Grant and Congrats to all the teams as many great fish were brought to the scales this past weekend. With the State Championship, Nathan and Braden earned a spot to compete later this summer for the BASS High School National Championship being held on Lake Chickamauga in Dayton, Tennessee.

Big Thank You to all of the Hartley’s Hawgs Sponsors. Also thanks to all the volunteer boat captains for taking time out to get these kids outside and on the water! And last but not least big thanks to Ohio Bass Nation for putting together this event and giving these kids the opportunity to go out and fish.

This was a two-day event with the biggest cumulative weight from each day determining the winners. It was a warm early summer weekend and boat traffic was significant out on the lake. Also, with the Cicada’s making their appearance it added a different variable to this years tournament and may have even influenced the bite. And to top it off there may have been a little mishap with some sunscreen intended for your nose….

Below are some pictures and videos from the final day of competition.
