The Hartley’s Hawgs Team of Nathan and Brett placed 10th out of 398 teams in 2021 World Championship and 10th out of 236 teams in the 2021 National Championship. This event was put on by the Student Angler Federation and is a unique dual-format event as described in the Tournament Flowchart. As a result of their finish, Nathan and Brett won $68k in scholarship offers! The Hawgs had three teams travel down to Anderson, South Carolina to compete in the event. The team of Mikey and Braden had high hopes going into the 2019 Jr National Tournament having both fished in National Tournaments in the past. The duo put that experience to good use putting together two solid days of fishing to claim the Bassmaster Jr National Championship held in Huntingdon, Tennessee on August 6 – August 7, 2019! We are starting to get information for some of our 2024 Tournaments. The SAF High School State championship will be on Alum Creek Lake on Saturday, June 8, 2024. All the Club Tournaments will be posted on the Tournaments Page. Additionally, the Bassmaster and MLF Opens Schedules have also been posted. Club Anglers will have all the necessary memberships to signup for these Open Tournaments but travel expenses and logistics would be each Anglers families responsibility. Several Hawgs Teams travelled to southern Ohio to compete in the SAF State championship held on the Ohio River out of Gallipolis on 6/3/23. It was tough fishing for many teams and none of the Hawgs Teams placed high enough to qualify for the upcoming SAF National Championship. This past weekend, April 29-30, the Hawgs High School and Juniors competed for the 2023 OBN State Championship on Alum Creek Lake. Saturday was a cool overcast morning with some clearing in the afternoon while Sunday morning a cold front with wind and cold rains worked thru the area. The weather didn’t slow the fishing as several nice bags were brought to the scales. Unfortunately the Hawgs did not qualify any teams for the BASS National Championships (top two places qualify), but several teams from both the Juniors and High School were very near the top of the standings.
