The Hartley’s Hawgs Team of Nathan and Brett placed 10th out of 398 teams in 2021 World Championship and 10th out of 236 teams in the 2021 National Championship. This event was put on by the Student Angler Federation and is a unique dual-format event as described in the Tournament Flowchart. The team of Mikey and Braden had high hopes going into the 2019 Jr National Tournament having both fished in National Tournaments in the past. The duo put that experience to good use putting together two solid days of fishing to claim the Bassmaster Jr National Championship held in Huntingdon, Tennessee on August 6 – August 7, 2019! We were able to get ahold of some tentative schedule information for the 2025 Championship Tournaments to include the SAF and OBN Championship and have updated our Events Calendar and Tournament Pages accordingly. The Hartley’s Hawgs had one High School and one Junior team fishing the first stop of the 2024-2025 Ohio Bass Nation Team Trail. This trail include two tournaments in the fall of 2024 and two in the spring of 2025. The winner of the trail will be the team that earned the most points in their best two tournaments. Teams only have to compete in two tournaments to have a chance to win the points championship. All current and perspective members are invited to attend a club meeting being held at Alum Creek Lake, New Galena Ramp on Sunday 8/24/24 starting at 11AM. The meeting will include some discussions about preparing for tournaments and we also plan on having a representative from Ohio Bass Nation there to discuss the upcoming Youth Team Trail that Ohio Bass Nation is starting. The Hartley’s Hawgs had 5 high school teams competing for the Ohio Bass Federation High School Championship on Lake Erie. Because of high winds/waves the tournament was limited to within Sandusky Bay for safety. Our team of Cooper and Walker brought in a nice limit of largemouth weighing in at 12.70# to earn 2nd place in the state while all the other Hartley’s teams also brought fish to the scale. This fall there is a unique tournament opportunity being held in October that pairs a High School and College Angler together to fish for significant scholarship dollars and prizes. This event is the Logan Parks Foundation High School/College Chaos Tournament. Two junior teams from the Hartley’s Hawgs travelled down to Tennessee the week of July 22, 2024 to compete for a national championship on the waters of Lake Chickamauga. Both squads had a great experience and were able to bring fish to the scales. Congrats to the teams of Marlon and Elijah and Cam and Asher! On June 8, 2024 after the SAF High School weigh-in was complete members from the Zak Davis Foundation presented the 1st annual Zak Davis Memorial Scholarship to club member Jake Jones! The Hartley’s Hawgs had seven teams competing in the 2024 SAF State championship held on Alum Creek Lake. The team of Brooks and Noah took home the top honors with a bag weighing in at 16# – 1 oz to secure the win. The team of Connor and Hoyt weighed in a bag at 12# – 2 oz to finish third in the event. The Hartley’s Hawgs High School and Juniors set out on Rocky Fork lake for a 2-day tournament to decide the 2024 Ohio Bass Nation State Champions and decide qualifiers for the 2024 Nationals. The Team of Marlon and Elijah won the 2024 State Junior title weighing in nearly 14# over the two day tournament to secure the win.
