The Hartley’s Hawgs Team of Nathan and Brett placed 10th out of 398 teams in 2021 World Championship and 10th out of 236 teams in the 2021 National Championship. This event was put on by the Student Angler Federation and is a unique dual-format event as described in the Tournament Flowchart. As a result of their finish, Nathan and Brett won $68k in scholarship offers! The Hawgs had three teams travel down to Anderson, South Carolina to compete in the event. The team of Mikey and Braden had high hopes going into the 2019 Jr National Tournament having both fished in National Tournaments in the past. The duo put that experience to good use putting together two solid days of fishing to claim the Bassmaster Jr National Championship held in Huntingdon, Tennessee on August 6 – August 7, 2019! On June 8, 2024 after the SAF High School weigh-in was complete members from the Zak Davis Foundation presented the 1st annual Zak Davis Memorial Scholarship to club member Jake Jones! The Hartley’s Hawgs had seven teams competing in the 2024 SAF State championship held on Alum Creek Lake. The team of Brooks and Noah took home the top honors with a bag weighing in at 16# – 1 oz to secure the win. The team of Connor and Hoyt weighed in a bag at 12# – 2 oz to finish third in the event. The Hartley’s Hawgs High School and Juniors set out on Rocky Fork lake for a 2-day tournament to decide the 2024 Ohio Bass Nation State Champions and decide qualifiers for the 2024 Nationals. The Team of Marlon and Elijah won the 2024 State Junior title weighing in nearly 14# over the two day tournament to secure the win. Marlon and Elijah will be advancing onto the Bass Nation National Championship to be held later this summer on Chickamauga Lake in Tennessee. Congrats Boys! We are now in the full swing of our Tournament Season. We have sent several emails related to upcoming Rocky Fork Ohio Bass Nation State Championship to be held at Rocky Fork on 6/1 and 6/2. The club was fortunate to be able to do some pond fishing at the beautiful Hurtt Family property for a little pond tournament competition during today’s meeting. New Anglers that joined the club this year, Connor and Hoyt, travelled down to Alabama to compete in the MLF High School Open and brought back a victory qualifying them for the MLF National Championship (and World Finals) later this summer on Lake Hartwell. Added some additional submissions and closed up the Tournament submittal page. A lot of great fish were submitted. Our winner for Longest Fish on the High School Side was Walker with a GGGiant 21.75″ fish. Our winner for Longest Fish on the Piglet side was Asher with a really nice 18.25″ Fish. This weekend one of our piglet anglers and his family participated in the Fish Ohio Inland Fishing Day. This event included a reception Friday evening and spending some time out on the water the following day. This year’s event was held at Alum Creek Lake. We are heading into final weekend of our virtual tournament so get out and wet a line if you are able and haven’t already submitted a fish. We had a lot of submittals com in over this past week and they have now been posted on our Virtual Tournament Page. Leading the Big Bass Category for our High Schooler’s is a 21.75″ fish and leading big fish for the Juniors is an 18.25″ fish. Great job on those awesome catches.
