The Hartley’s Hawgs had 15 teams competing in the 2019 BASS Nation State Championship held at Rocky Fork on April 27 – April 28, 2019. There were 8 teams competing on the High School side and 7 Jr teams.
Day one brought pleasant spring weather and lots of nice fish being brought to the scales including a 6.5# Hawg caught by Hartley’s Hawgs members Caleb and Tristan competing in the High School Tournament which earned big fish honors for the tourney (and also a spot on our Lunker Board!). After day one, Caleb and Tristan sat in 2nd place. For the Jr’s, the Hawgs duo of Braden and Mikey were holding 1st place.
At the close of Day one rain moved in followed by much cooler temperatures and wind for Day two. The day two conditions definitely changed the bite but most teams adapted and brought fish to the scales. The Hawgs HS team of Julian and Braden brought in the biggest sack of the day with a 13.73# bag and also claimed the highest finishing position of HS teams for the Hartley’s Hawgs. The Hawgs Jr team of Braden and Mikey held off charges from several teams to claim 2nd position for the Jr’s earning an opportunity to fish in the BASS Jr National Championship! Congrats to Braden and Mikey and all the Hartley’s Hawgs team!
Thanks to all the boat captains and other volunteers who helped make this a great weekend of fishing!
