This past weekend, April 29-30, the Hawgs High School and Juniors competed for the 2023 OBN State Championship on Alum Creek Lake. Saturday was a cool overcast morning with some clearing in the afternoon while Sunday morning a cold front with wind and cold rains worked thru the area. The weather didn’t slow the fishing as several nice bags were brought to the scales. Unfortunately the Hawgs did not qualify any teams for the BASS National Championships (top two places qualify), but several teams from both the Juniors and High School were very near the top of the standings.

Great job to all the teams braving the weather and bringing some awesome fish to weigh-in. Also, huge thanks to all the volunteer boat captains, club advisors, and other volunteers that helped put on the tournament. We can’t do it without all the wonderful volunteers!

Also, on Sunday of this tournament the OBN also hosted the College Anglers to compete for a College State Championship. Two former Hartley’s Hawgs members competed and former member Brady took home the College Championship with a nice sack over 16#. Great to see former members continuing to compete in the college ranks. Below are a couple pics:
