The Hartley’s Hawgs had a nice contingent of teams travel up to Sandusky for the MLF High School Open held on Saturday, 9-10-2022. It was a large field of 40 teams that took on Lake Erie. All of the Hawgs Teams brought fish to the scales with our best finishing team placing 8th. Congrats to Mason and Ryan and to all the Teams that competed. The Hartley Hawgs had two teams competing at the 2022 BassMaster High School National Championship during the week of August 8 – August 13 on Lake Hartwell located on the South Carolina and Georgia border. The Team of Jake and Drew earned their spot by placing 2nd at the 2022 BASS Ohio State Championship. The Team of Nathan and Braden earned their spot by qualifying thru the BassMaster Open held on Lewis Smith Lake earlier this year. The Hartley’s Hawgs just had two different Junior Teams compete in National Championship Tournaments. The team of Archer and Hayden had a great tournament at the BASS Junior National Championship and placed 8th out of a field of junior anglers from all over the country. Way to go Boys! The Hartley’s Hawgs duo of Dylan and Andrew brought home the 2022 OBF HS State championship to the club with a nice 5 five fish limit of 16.56 pounds! Congrats Boys! It was an overcast stormy day but the fish didn’t seem to mind as Hawgs Teams brought several nice bags to the scales. Four Hawgs teams traveled south to Pickwick Lake in Florence Alabama to compete in the 13th Annual High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship presented by the Student Angler Federation held the week of June 19 – 25, 2022. This event is setup in a unique format and is two tournaments in one. Daily bag limit was three fish per team to put less stress on the fish during the hot summer weather. Five Teams from the Hartley’s Hawgs travelled south to fish the Ohio River in search of the SAF State championship. It was a beautiful summer day and four of the five teams were able to bring fish back to the scales. The top two teams from this tournament qualified for the upcoming SAF National Championship. While the Hawgs fell just short of a top two finish the teams fished hard on a very tough body of water. OBF Junior State Championship

Several Teams from the Hartley’s Hawgs competed in the recent Ohio Bass Federation Junior State Championship on May 7, 2022. The event was originally scheduled to be held on O’Shaugnessy Reservoir but the location was moved to Alum Creek Lake due to heavy rains in the days preceding the event causing unsafe and tough fishing conditions on O’Shaugnessy.
