We are heading into the very busy month of May! Spring is upon us and the fish are biting. Get out there and enjoy the outdoors. Remember the Hartley’s Hawgs Raffle drawing is being held May 20, 2021 so get out there and sell raffle tickets to help support the club. The Hartley Hawgs brought home 1st and 3rd at a very stingy Buckeye Lake. This was the 2nd stop of the 4 Tournament Ohio Bass Nation Team Trail Series. Nathan and Braden brought 5 to the scales to claim the top spot. Nathan and Braden also weighed in the Big Fish of the tournament. The OBF Youth State Championship is coming soon (May 8, 2021)!. This is a State Championship Tournament for youth Anglers 8th Grade and younger. This years tournament will be held on Alum Creek Lake launching from Cheshire ramp. The winner of this event qualifies for the TBF Junior World Championship which is being held this year at Quad Cities, Illinois (Mississippi River). Several Hartley’s Hawgs Teams traveled south to take on Rocky Fork. The Duo of Mike and Rees took the top spot. Congrats Boys! It was an overcast and cool day but the conditions didn’t stop the Duo from getting it done. This was stop #1 of a 4 tourney HS Team Series event being put on by the Ohio Bass Nation. Congrats to Hawgs member Braden M. for being named to the BASS HS All-State Team. He joins 47 other HS anglers from across the country with the honor. BASS will later announce their 12 member All-American Team from this group of anglers to compete in a Tournament with an Elite Series Angler serving as coach. The club will be holding another meeting this coming Sunday, January 31, 2021 @ 1:00 PM. The meeting again will be held virtually using Google Meet. Guest Speaker is Jeremy Reese. We are also working on upcoming meetings with Guest Speakers to include Charlie Hartley, Jami Norman, and we are also working to schedule Bass Pro Tour and MLF Pro Angler Jacob Wheeler to speak to the club.
