We are starting to get information for some of our 2024 Tournaments. The SAF High School State championship will be on Alum Creek Lake on Saturday, June 8, 2024. All the Club Tournaments will be posted on the Tournaments Page. Additionally, the Bassmaster and MLF Opens Schedules have also been posted. Club Anglers will have all the necessary memberships to signup for these Open Tournaments but travel expenses and logistics would be each Anglers families responsibility. The Hartley’s Hawgs had two teams travel to La Crosse Wisconsin to fish the Student Angler Federation World and National Championship. A full post will be coming soon on that. One of our Teams has made the final day cut to Fish for World Championship and big Scholarships and Prizes! Our Adult Host Club, The Columbus Bassmasters held a cleanup day at Alum Creek on June 10, 2023. Thanks to them for helping out taking care of our natural resources and fisheries. Zak Davis was a former Walnut Springs and Hartley’s Hawgs member who tragically lost his life in a car accident. His family has created a memorial foundation in Zak’s honor to promote and support Zak’s passion of fishing. Each year the Foundation organizes and runs the ZakFest fundraiser event. The 2024 event will be held on June 22, 2024 between 12 noon – 3pm at Hoff Woods Park in Westerville, Ohio. Additionally, in 2024 the Foundation announced the creation of a $500 Scholarship for a Hartley’s Hawgs Angler that will be attending college. Thanks to Public Lands at Polaris for hosting the Hartley’s Hawks and other fishing organizations for their Fishing Fryday event. On 3/12/23 the club met to make plastic baits from recycled plastics. All of the anglers seemed to have a good time and they all were able to take home many bags of baits. Thanks to the Dills for supplying food for the group! And big thanks to the Columbus Bassmasters for partnering with the Hawgs to assist on this project. Great job!
