Four Hawgs teams traveled south to Pickwick Lake in Florence Alabama to compete in the 13th Annual High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship presented by the Student Angler Federation held the week of June 19 – 25, 2022. This event is setup in a unique format and is two tournaments in one. Daily bag limit was three fish per team to put less stress on the fish during the hot summer weather. The Tournament Format is explained at the following page. It was a hot week in Northern Alabama with daily highs near/above 95 and a couple days with highs flirting with 100 degrees. Thanks to all the parents and volunteer boat captains who make all this possible.

Way to go to all the Hartley’s Teams! Nathan and Braden, Mike and Rees, Brett and Dylan, and Ryan and Rex represented the Hawgs well.

Official practice was the first three days of the week with a mandatory check-in and meeting on the third day leading into competition. Here are some pics from practice days as well as the check-in meeting. Click on image to see full size picture.

Day one of the tournament was the hottest day of the week with the actual high temperature right around 100 degrees. The Hawgs Teams battled through the high temps and several teams brought fish back to weigh-in. Click on any of the below photos to see a full-size version.
