The Hartley Hawgs had two teams competing at the 2022 BassMaster High School National Championship during the week of August 8 – August 13 on Lake Hartwell located on the South Carolina and Georgia border. The Team of Jake and Drew earned their spot by placing 2nd at the 2022 BASS Ohio State Championship. The Team of Nathan and Braden earned their spot by qualifying thru the BassMaster Open held on Lewis Smith Lake earlier this year.
For a mid-August tourney down south the weather was pleasant for the majority of the week. Both Teams brought fish to the scales with Nathan and Braden placing 71st out of 314 team field and Jake and Drew finishing 279th. Both teams struggled to get bites and had to make some adjustments to get fish in the boat. Way to keep after it boys. Big shout out to the volunteer Boat Captains that make these tournaments possible for our HS anglers.
