Several Hawgs Teams travelled to southern Ohio to compete in the SAF State championship held on the Ohio River out of Gallipolis on 6/3/23. It was tough fishing for many teams and none of the Hawgs Teams placed high enough to qualify for the upcoming SAF National Championship. This past weekend, April 29-30, the Hawgs High School and Juniors competed for the 2023 OBN State Championship on Alum Creek Lake. Saturday was a cool overcast morning with some clearing in the afternoon while Sunday morning a cold front with wind and cold rains worked thru the area. The weather didn’t slow the fishing as several nice bags were brought to the scales. Unfortunately the Hawgs did not qualify any teams for the BASS National Championships (top two places qualify), but several teams from both the Juniors and High School were very near the top of the standings.
