The Hartley’s Hawgs Team of Nathan and Brett placed 10th out of 398 teams in 2021 World Championship and 10th out of 236 teams in the 2021 National Championship. This event was put on by the Student Angler Federation and is a unique dual-format event as described in the Tournament Flowchart. As a result of their finish, Nathan and Brett won $68k in scholarship offers! The Hawgs had three teams travel down to Anderson, South Carolina to compete in the event. The team of Mikey and Braden had high hopes going into the 2019 Jr National Tournament having both fished in National Tournaments in the past. The duo put that experience to good use putting together two solid days of fishing to claim the Bassmaster Jr National Championship held in Huntingdon, Tennessee on August 6 – August 7, 2019! The Hartley’s Hawgs members had a blast at the annual club bait making event. The Columbus Bassmasters helped the kids melt soft plastics and create new soft plastic baits. There were also lessons on powder coating jig heads and making jig skirts. A huge thanks to the Columbus Bassmaster for all of their guidance in making the lures, and a big thanks to the Johnstown Sportsman Club for hosting the event!Read More →

The Hartley’s Hawgs had a booth at the 2026 National Fishing Expo in Columbus Ohio. This was a great opportunity for the club to talk with perspective families about joining the club and to show what Hartley’s Hawgs is all about. At our January 11, 2026 club meeting we were privileged to have Allex Conner speak to the kids. Allex came up through the youth fishing programs in Central Ohio and continues to compete in many tournaments in the state and nationally. Allex shared a lot of great knowledge with the kids. The Hartley’s Hawgs had three teams competing for the OBF High School State Title held on Mosquito Creek Lake on August 10, 2025. The teams battled through hot, muggy conditions and all three brought fish back to the weigh in. Congrats to Cooper and Walker on their club best 9th place finish. The senior duo of Connor and Hoyt competed in the 2025 Bassmaster High School National Championship held on Clarks Hill Lake. The boys made the final day cut and finished 7th in the nation out of a field of over 250 boats. They fished hard through tough hot (nearly 100 degree) and humid days.
