Several upcoming meetings for the Hartley’s Hawgs. This Sunday 1/23 former Hartley’s Hawgs member and great young angler Jeremy Reese will be speaking with the club. Next Sunday, 1/30 Rich Carter will be demonstrating some rod building techniques. We now have schedules for our three major tournaments for 2022. OBF has set the Junior Championship for May 7, 2022 on O’Shaughnessy Lake (with Alum Creek as backup) and the High School Championship for July 17, 2022 on Sandusky Bay. Happy 2022. We are gearing up to start some club activities in the coming weeks. The first order of business is to take care of Club Paperwork/Forms and Dues for the season. Dues for the season are $225 ($50 of which goes toward raffle). To simplify the forms for 2022 all have been placed on the website forms page and each form has been numbered #1 – 7 with a brief explanation of each form. #1-4 are required forms. #5-7 are only required if applicable. Both MLF and BASS have released their 2022 HS Open Tournament Schedules. Great to see these organizations continuing to provide these opportunities for youth anglers. Four member of the Hartley’s Hawgs travelled to Decatur Alabama to attend the 1st ever BASS HS Combine. This was a unique event that brought together College Fishing programs from around the country with perspective HS Anglers looking to continue fishing in college. The Boys were able to speak with coaches from several colleges and also participated in a skills competition as part of the event. Big shout out to BASS for organizing this event and continuing to grow youth bass fishing. The fundraiser raffle drawing was held at the conclusion of the 2021 Student Angler Federation Tournament held May 22, 2021 @ Delaware Lake. We’d like to thank all those who participated in the raffle to help us with this successful fundraiser.
